These rethinks
attempt to explore the biblical and/or christian
notions of salvation. But most of these
rethinks are ideas that I began to type out but never got around to completing,
finishing or refining. If one of them
interests you and you’d like to see me finish it, let me know by email. That might give me the impetus I need.

What is Faith? [multi-chapter;
started]
The faith through which we are
saved is multi-faceted and robust.
The Greatest Commandment and the Gospel [first draft
basically complete]
Rethinking Jesus
Use of “The Greatest Commandment(s)” in Mark 12, Matthew 19, Matthew 22, Luke
10, and John 6. Do we earn the right to enter into God’s
kingdom and into eternal life by obeying the commands to love God and love
people?
How can
Imperfect People Impress a Perfect God? [started]
Arguably the most important
dilemma we face in life. If God is
absolutely perfectly holy and his kingdom and paradise are perfectly pure and
we humans are morally imperfect, what can be done about the problem?
The Salvation Equation [started]
Salvation is often
oversimplified. This attempts to look at
all its parts as they fit into the whole.
It attempts to see salvation in its complexity but still retaining its
simplicity. Explores the
relationship between parts like faith, grace, works, predestination,
repentance, etc.
Only Bad
People Go to Heaven [idea]
Most people think that you have to
be good to go to Heaven. This rethink attempts
to turn that assumption on its head and substantiate it from a biblical
standpoint.
Nothing
But Jesus Christ and Him Crucified [begun]
Some meditations on the work of
Christ on the cross
What is Grace? [idea]
The grace by which we are saved is
often poorly understood thing.
What is the Gospel? [idea]
What is the Bad News? What is the
Good News? Are there multiple
gospels? The bloody
gospel? The
gospel of grace? The gospel of the kingdom?
another gospel?
“I desire mercy, not sacrifice.”
Who Was Jesus? [idea]
What about those who have never
heard? [idea]
